Bogotá, Colombia, May 25, 2026
As part of its commitment to the development of communities in its area of influence, ONGC Videsh Limited Colombian Branch, operator of the CPO-5 Block and Gangotri production area in the department of Meta, carried out a road rehabilitation project along the Cabuyaro – Viso de Upía corridor, aimed at improving mobility and safety conditions for the different users of this road.
The initiative continues the works started in 2024 and completed in 2025, with an investment of approximately COP 7.867 billion, as part of the voluntary social investment program that responds to needs raised by the community and to which the company contributes through efforts aimed at addressing them. The project also received approval from the Planning Secretariat of the Mayor’s Office of Cabuyaro, in line with the company’s social commitments in the territory.
“This project reflects ONGC Videsh Limited’s commitment to the development of communities in its area of influence and to strengthening infrastructure that contributes to improved mobility and road safety in the territory,” said Niranjan Roul, Country Manager of ONGC Videsh Limited Colombian Branch.
The interventions included the rehabilitation of a 0.8-kilometer road section (between K0+372 and K1+172), pothole repairs between K2+920 and K5+830, and horizontal road marking throughout the corridor, covering more than 8 kilometers of road intervention.
This project particularly benefits the communities of the rural areas of El Viso de Upía, Guayabal de Upía and Mararabe, which use this road for their daily and productive activities. It also positively impacts different road users, including school transportation, agricultural product transportation, private vehicles, freight transport, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians, suppliers and companies operating in the area.
These interventions seek to improve road safety conditions, facilitate community mobility and strengthen access to rural areas, while also contributing to the development of productive agricultural activities. In this way, the company reaffirms its commitment to community well-being and sustainable territorial development.
